13-year-old girl forced intoprostitution makes stunningrevelations

13-year-old girl forced intoprostitution makes stunningrevelations

– The girl’s grandmother had deliberately ‘sold’ her into prostitution for N4,000
– Despite the fact that the girl was being maltreated, the granny encouraged her to continue
– After leaving her madam, Blessing became a ‘bigger’ prostitute
– Her deliverance soon came after attending church regularly
Blessing Bassey Okon may have thought that her misery in life began almost the same day she lost her father, but she would never have envisaged what was in stock for her later.

The 13-year-old was subsequently abandoned by her mother who quickly remarried and ‘dumped’ her with the late husband’s mother who could neither feed her well nor train her due in school.
The Akwa Ibom-born Blessing, thus, started living another kind of life, especially since her grandmother had been praying for somebody who could take of her to come around. It didn’t take too long before her prayer was answered, albeit not what she hoped for.
According to Daily Sun, a professional prostitute stormed the residence of the grandmother and in her businesswoman ‘clothing’, deceived Blessing’s grandmother into believing that she would take care of the young girl whom she said would be helping to assist in her shop where she sold
rice.
While narrating her ordeal, Blessing said the lady gave her grandmother N4000 and took her to Calabar, stating:
“When that Aunty came to my village to pick me, she deceived my grandmother that she had a big rice shop which she wanted me to manage. “She gave my grandmother some money and  the old woman asked me to go with her. In fact, I was very happy because I wanted to leave the village to an urban area, so I would have the opportunity to engage myself in one trade or the other, since there was no one to support me.
“Unfortunately, it was when we got to Calabar that I understood that what I went to do was prostitution. She showed me a room and instructed me to ensure that I deliver enough money to her otherwise I would die of hunger.
I felt bad and wondered what to do. “After much thought, I remembered that I had no option than to obey her directive. So grudgingly, I started the job. I wanted to report to my mother and grand mother what I was going through, but due to lack of mobile phone, I could not. While doing the job, I used to deliver between N10, 000 and N20, 000 to my madam on daily basis. It was from the money that she feed me and pay for my room. Sad enough, I was not given any cash, even
when I was the one who used my body to make the money.”

In her explanation, Blessing said she managed to save some money while her ordeal lasted and eventually bought a #2,000 worth mobile phone to explain what was going on to her family members but was disappointed when after explaining to her granny, she was encouraged to go on.She said:             “When I reported to my grandmother that the lady she gave me to later introduced me to prostitution business, she was not bothered, rather, she advised me to try to cope, in order to survive the hard times. From her statement, I understood that it was a planned work. She even later gave me one of my sisters to join me in the business.”
The poor girl, in the course of hustling for customers, got caught by some police officers for being a ‘child’ prostitute.
“I was in my room when some policemen came. When they saw me, they were surprised because of my age. So, they arrested me. The following day, my madam sent someone to bail me from the police detention. When I left the station, a woman I did not know took me to her house and was giving me food. I was really satisfied and comfortable than the place I was.
“At a time, her son started abusing and beating me for eating their food, without doing anything for them. As a result, I left the place and went home to inform my mother, instead
of discouraging me, she also encouraged me probably due to the bag of rice and other items I gave to her.
“So, when I returned, I decided to leave my madam to be on my own. Thereafter, I started going from one hotel to the other and was making some money, but could not see what I did with it,” the young lady stated emotionally. Narrating further, Blessing noted that, “while
in the business, I contacted HIV from one of my boy friends. Even at that, I was still having sex with several men. But I do not know whether they also contacted HIV or not. At a stage, I began to get worried about my condition and a possible way out because I could save money to do any reasonable thing
from what I was doing.

“So, one day, some church people who introduced themselves as members of The Lord’s Chosen Charismatic Revival Ministries in Calabar came to preach to us in our hotel. Their message centered on repentance. And as they preached to me, I was touched to heed their advice to leave the job and join them, but another mind told me not to go. But after much thought, I made up my mind to
follow them to church.
“Even when I joined The Lord’s Chosen, the demons in me were still at work. And, I was fighting with some members regularly, on little provocation. But the members advised me not
to do such things in the church, yet I did not listen. One day, I prayed God to remove the
demons in me and those in my siblings because we are known to be troublesome people in our community. Good enough, I was managing myself to attend the Church and they were really working hard to deliver me.
“I was brought to The Lord’s Chosen Crusade in Lagos from Port Harcourt on Friday, June
10, 2016 by their members. They sent me to Port Harcourt branch from Calabar. Then from there, they brought me to Lagos for this programme. When the 2-day programme started on Saturday and prayers were offered, I felt relieved of the problems I used to have. I also noticed that the HIV has disappeared because I do not notice some of the symptoms I used to have. What is left is for me to be tested to be medically sure.” She has since denounced prostitution, saying: “I want God to forgive me. I also want those I have wronged to forgive me also. I want to start a new life. I want to be a child of God and do not want to go into prostitution any longer. So, what I need now is a job and accommodation to enable me take care of my self.”

Mother, triplets detained in hospital over
N35,000 bill

Mother, triplets detained in hospital over N35,000 bill

SEVEN weeks after she delivered a set of
triplets, a housewife, Gloria Okore, has been
detained by the management of a private
hospital in Lagos over her inability to settle
outstanding medical bills of N35,000 out of
N120,000 incurred at the hospital.
Mrs Okore, who delivered two girls and a boy on
May 10 in Bessylva Hospital and Maternity Home,
located at 60, Surulere Street, Dopemu-Agege,
Lagos State, has been begging for help to raise
the balance and cater for the children.
Vanguard learned that the babies were delivered
preterm (seven months), and one of the triplets,
a female, died two weeks ago as there was no
incubator to use for the babies.
Gloria Okore told Vanguard that due to the hash
economic situation in the country, the family
needed the goodwill of Nigerians to take care of
the babies.
When Vanguard visited the hospital, the nursing
mother, who was looking pale and unable to
breastfeed the babies, was using an unkempt
ward inside the hospital with no medical
facilities.
According to the 27-year-old Gloria, “I had the
triplets through normal delivery, but the babies
were born prematurely. We were charged
N120,000. My husband hawks fairly-used clothes
( okrika ). It took him time to raise N85,000, which
he paid in installments.
“I am from Owerri in Imo State, while my
husband is from Abia State. We got married
three years ago. Before I had these triplets, I had
twins who died immediately after birth. When I
was pregnant for the triplets, I was very sick; I
could not walk long distance because my belly
was very big.
“I want government to help pay the balance of
the hospital bills and also help us with basic
necessities for the babies. Right now I cannot
work because the babies are still young.”

When Nigeria screamed Ghana mustgo!

The year was 1983 and Nigeria had just ordered the massive return of illegal migrants from the country back to Ghana.
The move seemed incredible as Nigeria and Ghana were supposed to be considered best neighbours and their relationship dates back to the pre-colonial period.
At that time, more than a million Ghanaians were working (il) legally inNigeria as the country had enjoyed oil boom. However there were complaints that the Ghanaians had taken over the labour work force in the country and Nigerians were forced to compete with them in the labour market. The collapse of the oil boom forced the country into economic hardship. Someone had tobe blamed and the foreigners were the scapegoat.
When the repatriation was announced, it was celebrated with glee in Nigeria but for their Ghanaian counterparts, it was a journey they would not forget.
 They were given till
May 10 of that year to leave the country of face serious consequence. An official statement from Nigeria read:“If they don’t leave they should be arrested and tried and sent back to their homes. Illegal immigrants, in fact, under normal circumstances, should not be given any notice whatsoever.”
It was suspected that the repatriation was a retaliatory move from Nigeria as Ghana carried out a similar move during President Kofi Abrefa Busia administration in the early 1970’s and foreigners, most of them from Nigeria, were deported. For Ghanaians, the journey from Nigeria back to their country was a tiring one. Trucks were loaded with humans and cargos and soldiers supervised the expulsion of the Ghanaians.  Many of them were forced to leave behind their assets and belongings as they could not secure official documents to stay. The Ghanaian radio station stations were livid:”Nigeria should be ashamed of itself. The action of Nigeria is contrary to the charter of the Organization of African Unity.”READ ALSO:Old photos of universitylife in the 60s“Ghana must go” soon became a cliché on the tongue of most Nigerians who felt Shagari’s action was in the interest of the citizens. They were optimistic that with the exit of their “parasitic” neighbours, Nigerians would have access to jobsbut the fairy tale did not materialise. The absence of the Ghanaians did not open the door to El-Dorado as most Nigerians expected. Reality dawned in that the country had a bigger problem than the foreigners taking over their job.The sort of menial jobs the foreigners were doing in Nigeria could not easily be filled by Nigerians who were not used those kind of work. Also, some of the foreigners were actually entrepreneurs who had taken advantage of the enabling environment to do business. Their absence automatically stopped the business and Nigerians did not seem to be interested in resurrectingthem. By the later part of 1983, Nigerians were in the same situation as they were when the Ghanaians were around. It soon became clear that something else was responsiblefor the economic problem the nation was facing. On December 31, the then General Muhammadu Buhari took over powerthrough a coup citing the massive corruption that existed in the Shagariadministration.Do you think corruption was Nigeria’s problem in 1983 or corruption? Watch: Attacks on American Abortion Providers Over the Years

A new video from the Thomson Reuters Foundation shows a chilling timeline of violence against abortion providers over the past two decades, from the 1993 murder of Dr. David Gunn in Pensacola, Florida, up through the recent shooting at a Planned Parenthood clinic in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
But perhaps the most heart-stopping detail is that abortion providers are in increasingly short supply—Reuters reports that in 1982, there were 2,908 providers in the United States. In 2011, that number had dropped to 1,720.
Democrats in the House are calling for Rep. Marsha Blackburn to end the "witch hunt" of the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, which was formed by John Boehner last fall to explore allegations that abortion clinics are selling fetal tissue for profit. (There has been no evidence thus far to prove this.) Democratic members have expressed concern that the aggressive allegations put forth by Blackburn and the Republicans on the panel endanger researchers and abortion providers.

DAVIDO PUTS LABEL UP FOR SALE

‘Davido wanted to sell records, so he created a controversy’ Dele Momodu

  Davido

Even though Dele Momodu and Davido may have squashed their beef on social media. A lot still believe their is still bad blood betwen them as Davido is using his name in his music.
In one of his songs he said Dele Momodu si na chi. While in another he sang ‘ Dele na my boy, dele na my boy’

In a brief interview with Joy News, The Ovation boss, Dele Momodu aired his opinion on the Dele na my boy line
He said “Fans can misled people sometimes. Well that’s what most music artistes all over the world do. He is using it to sell his album. He wants to sell his records, so he had to create controversy, to make that happen

I don’t know why you are talking about it now, as far as i’m concerned, he is just selling his records, because I don’t think David will see me face to face and call me his boy. I’m his father.

I’m comfortable with that, I can’t fight my own child and we are also connected for life through that child (Imade).
He called me his boy, do I look like any body’s boy? No! So what are we not saying! ‎”
