Troops kill 6 Boko Haram terrorists

– The MJTF ambushed the Boko Haram
sect, killed six terrorists
– The troops of the force are trying to
consolidate with the recent efforts of the
Nigerian army
– While the soldiers recovered weapons and
drugs a group of fishermen arrested two
more insurgents
The members of the Multinational Joint Task
Force (MNJTF) ambushed and killed six
Boko Haram fighters in the Lake Chad Basin
Commission (LCBC) region.
Colonel Muhammad Dole, the spokesperson
of the MNJTF unveiled a statement on July
4, Monday.
According to him, the soldiers in sector 1 in
Makary, Cameroon, sector 3 Baga, Nigeria;
sector 2 Bagasola Chad and sector 4 in Diffa,
(Niger) are making gallant efforts to
consolidate on recent successes recorded in
the battle field against Boko Haram
insurgents, Daily Trust reports.

He said these efforts are centered at laying
ambushes against militants and providing
patrols to block all identified logistic supply
routes in the area of responsibility.
The colonel stated that ambushes by the
soldiers near Yoyo village around Kekeno and
other areas north of Kukawa resulted in the
killing of 6 terrorists, while others fled with
severe injuries.
Dole said: “ Some quantity of arms and
ammunitions such as one GPMG, five AK 47
rifles, six 60mm Mortar Bombs, four RPG
Bombs, two magazines, twenty one rounds of
7.62mm special, one unprimed IED, three IED
Chargers and ten Motorcycles were recovered
at the sites.”
He added that the troops equally recovered
consignment of logistic materials and
various drugs during the ambushes.
“These items include 48 Jericans of PMS, four
rolls of cloth (unsewn BHT uniform), drugs
and beverages; including the vehicles
conveying them,” Colonel Dole noted.

The spokesman also said in the theatre of
operation, a group of fishermen in Tumboun
Alli village nabbed two Boko Haram fighters
with two concealed AK 47 rifles as they
were trying to escape the area and handed
them over to the troops of sector 1 Makary,
Cameroon.
MNJTF is a combined multinational
formation, comprising units, mostly army,
from Benin, Cameroon, Chad, Niger,
and Nigeria.
