TRUMP "I'M THE LEAST RACIAL PERSON"

Donald Trump’s Twitter war for the White House continued Saturday with an attack on Mitt Romney and perhaps one of the boldest declarations of his presidential campaign thus far.

In an interview with CNN’s Wolf Blitzer Friday, Romney derided the presumptive Republican nominee’s “trickle-down racism, trickle-down bigotry, trickle-down misogyny,” calling Trump “extremely dangerous to the heart and character of America.”

Romney, who told CNN he has no plans to launch a third-party presidential run, is among the growing list of Republicans who have recently condemned the candidate’s attacks against U.S. District Court Judge Gonzalo Curiel. Trump has accused Curiel, who was born in the United States, of unfairly adjudicating the civil lawsuits against Trump University because of his Mexican heritage.

“I think his comments time and again appeal to the racist tendency that exists in some people, and I think that’s very dangerous,” Romney said when Blitzer asked whether he thinks Trump is racist.
True to form, Trump shot back at the past presidential hopeful on Twitter Saturday morning.

“Mitt Romney had his chance to beat a failed president but he choked like a dog,” Trump tweeted. “Now he calls me racist-but I am least racist person there is.”

Whether or not Trump is truly racist, that last part is a particularly bold statement from someone who, in addition to his attacks on Curiel, has labeled Mexican immigrants in general as “criminals” and “rapists,” proposed an all-out ban on Muslims entering the United States, mocked Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren’s claims of Cherokee ancestry by calling her “Pocahontas,” and literally pointed to a supporter at one of his rallies and said, “Look at my African-American.”

Trump pointed to boxing promoter Don King “and so many other African Americans who know me well and endorsed me” as proof that he can’t possibly be racist.

However, just one day earlier, King had denied endorsing Trump.
“I’m endorsing the people,” King told the New York Daily News at Muhammad Ali’s funeral. “I’m not a Republican or a Democrat, I’m a Republicrat, and I go with the will of the people. The only reason Trump exists is because of the will of the people.”

RUSSIA TO REPLY REPLY AMERICA WITH A LOUDER VOICE

Russia: We will respond to entry of U.S. naval vessel into Black Sea

The Russian Foreign ministry said Moscow would respond to a U.S. naval ship's entry into the Black Sea with unspecified measures, saying it and other deployments were designed to ratchet up tensions ahead of a NATO summit, the RIA news agency reported.
Russian state media reported that the USS Porter, a U.S. naval destroyer, entered the Black Sea a few days ago on a routine deployment, a move it said raised hackles in Moscow because it had recently been fitted with a new missile system.
U.S. Navy officials told reporters on Wednesday the U.S. military would also have two aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean this month ahead of a July NATO summit in Warsaw as Washington sought to balance Russian military activities.
"Of course, this does not meet with our approval and will undoubtedly lead to response measures," RIA cited Andrei Kelin, a senior Foreign Ministry official, as saying about the USS Porter's movements.
He also said the deployment of U.S. aircraft carriers in the Mediterranean was a show of force which in his view deepened a chill in ties between Moscow and Washington caused by Russia's actions in Ukraine and Syria.
"As regards the overall situation of course there is a definite increase and stoking of tensions in our relations," he was quoted as saying.

Some Republicans discuss anti-Trump convention coup

Some Republicans discuss anti-Trump convention coup

After nearly a week long fire storm surrounding Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump and his attacks on a federal judge because of his Mexican heritage, which led to harsh criticism from his supporters and even one un-endorsement, some Republicans are raising the specter that a new nominee could replace Trump.

Bob Vander Plaats, a supporter and campaign co-chair of former candidate Sen. Ted Cruz, suggested that a convention coup at next month's Republican nominating convention in Cleveland is possible.

"Everything's got to be on the table," said Vander Plaats, acknowledging to NBC News that could mean an effort to unbind the delegates from having to vote for Trump on the convention floor.

Vander Plaats said Trump's recent tirade against Judge Gonzalo Curiel is leading to "more and more questions going into Cleveland."

Conservative radio host Hugh Hewitt also vocalized a plan B on his radio program, saying that "the party ought to change the nominee — because we're going to get killed with this nominee."

But despite Vander Plaats and Hewitt's suggestion, two Republican National Committee rules committee members said they reject the notion, and Cruz's own top delegate aide quashed the idea on Wednesday.

Ken Cuccinelli, who worked as the Cruz campaign's top delegate wrangler, emphatically refuted, telling NBC News, that such efforts to change the party rules to defeat Trump won't happen. Cuccinelli continues to oversee an effort among Cruz loyalists to influence the platform and rules committees at the convention.

"That's not going to happen — at least among our people," Cuccinelli said. "I will say clearly we are not participating, and we are dissuading people from any effort to change the nominating effort in the rules committee."

This GOP senator doesn't like her choices this election cycle

America officially has two presumptive nominees for president — but for some, narrowing the choices doesn't make it an easier decision.

"Like many Americans, I'm struggling with the choices we have this fall," Republican Sen. Susan Collins said in an interview with MSNBC.

Collins isn't fond of her options, and thanks to recent comments from Donald Trump about a federal judge, she appears to be distancing herself from the Republican presumptive nominee even more than before.

So would she vote against the aisle? She told The New Yorker: "I do not anticipate voting for her this fall. I'm not going to say never, because this has been such an unpredictable situation, to say the least."

She went on to say: "This is a difficult choice, and it's one, like many of my colleagues, that I am struggling with. It's not like we have perfect candidates from whom to choose in this election."
She complimented Clinton in an interview with Time, calling her "qualified to be president." But again she said, "I do not anticipate voting for Hillary this fall."

FRENCH POLOCE USE TEAR GAS ON ENGLAND FANS

French police have used tear gas on a small group of England fans following scuffles with locals in Marseille.
One England supporter reportedly suffered a head injury after being hit across the face with a wooden chair.
It is understood that a confrontation took place between locals and fans who had set up camp outside an English pub in the Old Port district.

.England face Russia in their opening Group B match at Marseille's Stade Velodrome on Saturday.

.Gendarmes clad in riot gear and accompanied by dogs were deployed on the streets of the southern city after trouble was reported shortly before midnight on Thursday.
Ambulances were seen arriving after police carrying riot shields moved in to separate the two groups, and tear gas was used to clear the area.

Footage of the incident showed men hurling chairs, a brutal fist fight outside a McDonald's and chanting England fans.
A clip posted on Twitter apparently showed the aftermath of the disorder as shop workers swept a street strewn with broken glass.
Some reports in English newspapers claim several England fans were heard chanting: "Isis, where are you?". The city of Marseille has a large Muslim population.

Donald Trump's own lawyer is donating to Hillary Clinton

Donald Trump's own lawyer is donating to Hillary Clinton

While Donald Trump has been trying to reframe his attacks on Judge Gonzalo Curiel -- complaining about his membership in a Latino lawyers organization, or accusing him of bearing some responsibility for the Trump U plaintiffs' law firm's six-figure speech payments to Hillary Clinton -- it turns out that his own lawyer has given to Clinton's presidential campaign, and he did so after Trump hired him.
The lawyer defending Trump in the case, Daniel Petrocelli, has donated to Clinton and several Democrats over the years, Yahoo News' Mike Isikoff noted. The Center for Responsive Politics, which tracks political donations, says that in January, Petrocelli donated $2,700, the maximum amount allowable for a contribution to Hillary Clinton's presidential primary campaign. Isikoff had also reported that Petrocelli had been hired by Trump a month earlier, in December 2015. Further, Petrocelli's law firm, O'Melveny & Myers, has given nearly $20,000 to her campaign, Yahoo News reported.
Trump has ranted at Curiel, told the Wall Street Journal that Curiel had "an absolute conflict" in overseeing the Trump U cases, given that he was "of Mexican heritage" and complained about his membership in a Latino lawyers association. He has also since told "Face the Nation's" John Dickerson a Muslim judge might also treat him unfairly.
In response, a succession of Republicans have denounced Trump's remarks. And Sen. Mark Kirk, R-Illinois, in a tough re-election fight, even rescinded his endorsement of Trump on Tuesday. Speaker Paul Ryan called his comments the "textbook definition of a racist comment."
Petrocelli has argued many high-profile cases -- he may be best known for winning a multi-million-dollar civil suit against O.J. Simpson for the deaths of Ronald Goldman and Nicole Brown Simpson,
In May, Curiel ruled that Trump would go to trial in the lawsuits in November, after election day, but before the late January date that Petrocelli had requested. He has not sought Curiel's recusal in the case -- Yahoo News quoted Petrocelli as saying, "The judge is doing his job....We're not seeking to recuse the judge."
To this point, Trump has not directed any attacks at his own lawyer for throwing his support to Hillary Clinton. Not that he'd have any reason to -- there's been no evidence that Petrocelli is wearing his political preferences into the courtroom.
As he told the Hollywood Reporter in April, Trump "didn't hire me for my political views. He hired me for my legal skills."
